The merciless passage of time

Events earlier in the year have motivated me to pick up learning German lessons. One phrase that stuck with me while I was reading a book in German was das unbarmherzige Verrinnen der Zeit, which translates into the merciless passage of time.

And the ironic twist is that brutal prioritization I wrote about seven years ago, kicked in again:

I tried to cheat recently, and I squeezed in one more activity […]. “I’ll manage somehow,” I said to myself. Guess who didn’t write for a month. The “finite time” maxim proved right again.

Guess who didn’t write for a month? :)
