Don’t fall in love with a design method

I interviewed a job candidate a few years ago. The candidate was an instructor and expert in a particular design method. I asked where the method would NOT work. After thinking for a while, the candidate enthusiastically answered that “it works for everything and everywhere.” The answer wasn’t the only reason why the job offer wasn’t extended, but it was a strong signal. You should never fall in love with a method so much that you can’t evaluate it objectively.
